What is the server depot?
Our server depot contains inexpensive server offers that are currently available in the data center. Most of the servers in the server depot result from terminations by other customers - e.g. in the course of restructuring or server upgrades - which is why we can offer these servers at a preferential price.
What types of servers does the server depot offer?
The servers in our server depot are exclusively bare-metal / dedicated servers. These servers are dedicated and available at our data center locations.
Why are the servers in the server depot cheaper?
The servers in our server depot are generally cheaper than our dedicated server offers, as they have already been rented by other customers for a certain period of time. We take into account the previous rental period compared to a new purchase and charge the difference. This is usually clearly reflected in the monthly server rental price.
How quickly is a server from the server depot ready for use?
Each entry in the server depot specifies when the server is free/available. If a server is 'immediately available', it will be available within a few to a maximum of 24 hours (working days).
Are the servers in the server depot new?
The servers usually come from previous projects, test installations or expiring customer configurations. They are therefore not brand new, but have been tested by us and are fully functional.
Can I customize the hardware in the server depot?
If technically possible, the hardware configuration of the servers in our server depot can also be fully customized. Please get in touch with our customer support team. Depending on the server and customization request, one-off costs may be incurred for the technician deployment. We will be happy to provide you with a quote!
Are there any restrictions regarding warranty or service?
No - the servers from the ServerDepot also benefit from:
- full IP-Projects Support
- 24/7 monitoring & reboot service (depending on tariff - management option)
- optional Service-Level-Agreements (SLAs)
How long will offers remain available in the server depot?
The servers in the depot are only available in limited quantities - first come, first served. So it's worth checking back regularly, or grabbing one quickly if you're interested. You can also be automatically notified of all new offers in the server depot via our server depot newsletter!
Can I reserve a server from the depot?
Short-term reservations are possible on request - but binding reservations are only possible with an order. We recommend completing the order process directly to secure the offer.
Where are the servers located?
All servers in the server depot are located in a data center in Germany - with GDPR-compliant infrastructure, redundant connection and location guarantee in highly certified data centers. The specific location information can be found in the details of the respective server.
For whom are servers from the depot suitable?
The server depot does not differentiate between entry-level and business servers and includes our entire product range. Accordingly, the servers from our depot are suitable for anyone who wants to rent the appropriate hardware at a reduced price.
Do the Serverdepot servers have redundant power supplies?
Most Serverdepot servers have redundant power supplies that are connected via different power feeds within the data center. The only exception here is our low-cost entry-level server offers. You can see what is the case with your specific server selection in the 'Power supply' section in the detailed view of the server.
What is the minimum contract duration for Serverdepot servers?
As the server systems in the server depot are already in stock, we do not have long minimum contract periods at this point. The minimum contract term for these offers is therefore only one month. You get maximum flexibility with low risk. As with all IP-Projects offers, the notice period is 14 days to the end of the month, depending on the payment interval you choose.
What is the network bandwidth for Serverdepot servers?
By default, every server in the server depot is connected to our network switches with at least a 1 Gigabit/s network connection. There is also the option of a 10 or 100 Gigabit/s network connection. This may be necessary, for example, if you want to set up a data cluster between several servers or have particularly high network bandwidth requirements. Please get in touch with our customer support team and we will be happy to advise you on the right solution for you.
Are IPv4 & IPv6 addresses included with the cheap Serverdepot servers?
Our Serverdepot servers include up to 3 IPv4 addresses free of charge. In addition, we also provide a free /64 IPv6 subnet. On request, it is also possible to obtain a /48 IPv6 subnet as next-hop routing.
Can I switch to another server or tariff later?
A change of tariff or server is only possible with a normal termination and new booking of the server.

The server depot
In our server depot you have the possibility to rent quickly available servers with a very short minimum contract period. Some server systems are still in a contract period and are therefore in exceptional cases only available at the turn of the month.
Peculiarities of the servers in the server depot
The server depot does not distinguish between premium and business dedicated servers. All available or soon to be available dedicated servers are listed. Due to the fact that the servers have been in use before, we can count the server rent paid so far towards the monthly rent. Therefore, the servers in the server depot are always slightly cheaper than our brand-new server offers on the website.
All servers are tested before provisioning and pre-installed with an operating system on a test basis.
If you are already an existing customer, the server will be provided for you as soon as possible after the order. If you are a new customer, a verification of your customer data will always take place after placing an order on our website.

For our business servers we only use rack hardware with redundant power supplies. In case of problems we can exchange PSUs and HDDs without downtime by means of hot-swap.

The administration of our servers is done via our self-developed server administration. Installation, reboots, monitoring, IP management and traffic analysis become a breeze.
Our co-user administration also allows your colleagues quick access to all servers. The shared servers and permissions can be set separately for each co-user.'
For installation we offer all common operating systems. Either as automatic installation, or manual installation with SSH/VNC access. If we don't have your desired operating system in our offer, you can use our ISO installer, or contact our support to extend our automatic installations.
In case of problems or misconfigurations, you can temporarily start a non-invasive rescue system. This resides exclusively in memory and allows SSH access to your server and the data on it.
For our servers we rely on hardware with IPMI support. IPMI can also be queried directly in our server administration. So you have all important system parameters of your server always available. Even reboots are possible without any problems in case of emergency.
You also have full visibility at the network level. We provide a detailed overview of your server system's traffic usage. Grouping multiple servers into a collective traffic pool—for example, for analysis purposes—is also possible.

Our servers in the server depot are partially available immediately. After verification the server will be activated directly and you can use it. For servers that are only available at the turn of the month, we reserve the system for you and make it available regardless of whether the turn of the month falls on a holiday.

Each of our data center locations has a green power certificate. This guarantees that the electricity is generated from renewable sources such as hydro or wind power.
Simple server management
Thanks to our self-developed server management environment you have the full overview even with dedicated servers from our server depot. The server management provides you with numerous useful tools, such as the automatic installation of your server or the inclusion of your own ISO installation images.
Guaranteed bandwidth
We guarantee that the booked network bandwidth is always available without any restrictions. There are no throttling mechanisms that automatically limit network ports or network traffic. If you book a Gigabit port, you will get full Gigabit bandwidth of our network at any time.
DDoS Protection
For a small extra charge we offer a flexible and highly efficient DDoS Protection to protect your dedicated servers from Denial of Service attacks. Thereby we rely on a solution exclusively developed for our customers which can be flexibly adapted to the needs of our customers!
Upgrade at any time
Even though our servers from the server depot are physical servers, we can upgrade them with additional devices or RAM at any time, depending on technical possibilities. However, an exchange of the CPU is not possible. Please contact our customer support for this.
Dedicated Server Operating Systems
We offer the following Linux Dedicated Server operating systems via automatic installation on our Business Dedicated Servers. If you are missing an operating system here, an ISO installation is available.
For a monthly surcharge we can also offer you Windows as server operating system. The installation of Windows is possible with the help of a VNC installation system. We always provide the latest Windows Server operating systems. The installation system can also be used if the Windows licenses are not booked through us as SPLA partner.
Dedicated Server Management
With our server depot servers we offer the same management scope as with our other dedicated server offerings. You get a complete server administration platform that offers you numerous administration options such as:

Payment Methods
We rent the service to you and bill you for it regularly, at the agreed intervals and in the form requested by you. It is not necessary/possible to top up credit (pre-paid), but it is possible to cancel the booked service in good time if you no longer require it. The contract is automatically extended by the agreed term, so no refund can be made if the service is not used and no notice of termination is given.
