What is Plesk Obsidian?
Plesk Obsidian is a full-featured server management web interface developed and distributed by Plesk. A Plesk license is provided on a month-to-month basis. During the lease period of a license, all system updates up to the operating system level as well as Plesk's own partner support are included.
With the help of the Plesk administration software, domains, databases and e-mail addresses can be managed very easily via a graphical interface in the browser. Depending on the Plesk license, various additional extensions can be used, such as the Wordpress Toolkit, Joomla Toolkit or SEO Toolkit. These extensions can be easily installed and configured via Plesk Obsidian.
Plesk Web Host Edition also includes a reseller and end-user separation so that restricted users can be created, and only have access to certain functions. In general, this is referred to as an administrator - reseller - customer structure.
Plesk Version History
The first version of Plesk appeared on the market in 2004. Since then, Plesk has been continuously developed and enhanced with numerous new features. The currently available version of Plesk is Obsidian, which has been available since June 4, 2019. This version has been continuously developed since then and thus also supports the latest operating systems. The previous version Onyx, which was also supported for a very long time, is being replaced more and more by Obsidian systems, although there are still many Onyx systems available. The following versions have been available since 2004:

Plesk Test License
We often receive customer requests for a Plesk trial license. This, however, is not necessary. Before you have to rent a Plesk license, there is a 30-day trial period with every Plesk installation before the Plesk installation is deactivated. Everyone can therefore test Plesk free of charge for 30 days in the full functional range before one must decide for one of the three license variants.
As an alternative to the 30-day trial period of Plesk licenses, you can also get a free 14-day license from Plesk https://www.plesk.com/plesk-free-download,which includes all extensions and features. This trial license is even more comprehensive than the 30-day trial model.
Plesk License Upgrade
Each Plesk license can be upgraded with additional Plesk extensions at any time. It is also possible to perform a complete license upgrade, for example, from a Web ADMIN Edition to a Web PRO Edition. A re-installation of the server is not necessary. The upgrade can be easily ordered through our support. There are no additional costs except for the license fee. A downgrade of a Plesk license, however, is unfortunately only possible in the course of a cancellation and new order.
Plesk License Partner
IP-Projects has been a Plesk license partner since 2014, when Plesk was still part of Parallels. Since then, we have steadily expanded our joint cooperation with Plesk.
Free Plesk Setup
If the Plesk license was booked through us, we will pre-install the Plesk Management Web Interface free of charge. The installation service applies to both, dedicated servers and virtual servers. Our customers receive the necessary login data for Plesk by e-mail after the installation is complete. Plesk is configured according to IP-Projects standards so that important security settings are already set.
Of course, we will still send you the Plesk license key. This key is exclusive to IP-Projects products and must not be used on other server products.

Our Plesk licenses are not obtained from Plesk through another middleman. IP-Projects is a direct Plesk partner! This gives us the possibility to get Plesk support for Plesk licenses purchased through our company without any detours. In case of problems with Plesk installations we can solve the problem faster than other license resellers on the market, directly in cooperation with manufacturer support.

We rent the service to you and bill you for it regularly, at the agreed intervals and in the form requested by you. It is not necessary/possible to top up credit (pre-paid), but it is possible to cancel the booked service in good time if you no longer require it. The contract is automatically extended by the agreed term, so no refund can be made if the service is not used and no notice of termination is given.
