Exchange Hosting
Hosted Exchange mailboxes
Our Exchange offerings based on Microsoft Exchange provide all the functionalities familiar from Microsoft Exchange environments. These include:
- Distributed calendars via different devices / sharing options for calendars
- Distributed emails via different devices / Active Sync
- Public folders to exchange data within Exchange domain groups
- Task and task management
- Distributed address books
You can configure and manage your own Exchange mailboxes quickly and conveniently via an administration interface. Integration into all common Outlook versions is also possible without further ado and is easily set up with the help of Autodiscover.
We offer various packages for our Exchange products. If no suitable Exchange package is available for you, you are welcome to ask our customer support team for a customized Hosted Exchange package. We will be happy to help you.
Switching between the various Exchange mailboxes on offer is possible at any time via our customer support. You can therefore upgrade a mailbox from Exchange S to Exchange M, for example, without having to reinstall it or take any other time-consuming steps.
Our Exchange mailboxes do not include Outlook. You therefore need an additional Outlook / Office 365 license to be able to use the mailboxes. Furthermore, use is only possible with your own domain. A connection to freemail systems such as @web, @gmx or @gmail is unfortunately not possible, as additional DNS entries are always required for the domain names to set up our Exchange products.
Reviews on Expeero.com
The carbon footprint of the Internet with its servers and data centers is growing incessantly. However, in addition to using energy-efficient hardware, we can also actively support nature: With every new rating - whether positive or negative - we therefore have 2 new trees planted.
Technical details - Microsoft Exchange offerings
High Availability Hosted Exchange Environment
Our Hosted Exchange environment is operated as a service-based Exchange cluster. The high availability happens over the Windows and Exchange environment as such, and not on a hypervisor level. This means that it is only possible to provide Exchange functionality, but not IMAP/POP/SMTP functionality. Therefore, these functions cannot be used with our Exchange offerings.
The advantage of this type of Exchange hosting is that the availability of Exchange services is always guaranteed, especially during system updates. The environment can thus be provided with security-critical updates more quickly and is significantly more stable in long-term operation.
Email filtering and Exchange mailbox protection
Our Exchange cluster is protected against external influences by a firewall environment, so that our customers' data and the entire Exchange environment are not directly available via public IP addresses.
This firewall also has a very extensive email spam protection. Among others, the following mechanisms are used:
- Malware protection - (scanning file attachments, blocking certain file attachments)
- Sandstorm feature - Suspicious email attachments are run in an estimated sandbox environment for early detection of encryption Trojans
- Blacklisting - check if the sender IP address is listed on a SPAM blacklist
- Word scan - search for specific keywords within the email
- SPF Record - Check whether the domain has an SPF record and whether the sender IP address is an allowed email sender
These mechanisms lead to a direct rejection of SPAM emails or to their quarantine.
Email archiving according to GoBD
Every Exchange mailbox managed by our Microsoft Exchange systems includes our email archiving solution. All emails are archived in an audit-proof manner in accordance with the legal GoBD standard.
The archiving system can be accessed at any time using a web GUI. An index is available, which can be used to search the email archive of the respective Exchange mailbox. The login data for the solution corresponds to the login data of the Exchange mailbox, as the solution works with Microsoft's common user administration - Active Directory. Therefore, no additional login data is required for the email archive.
Archiving is performed externally outside the Exchange cluster on an independent storage system. If required, in case of a possible termination of the Exchange package, this email archive can be exported and made available for a fee via our customer support.
OWA Exchange Webmail
Of course, the normal Exchange OWA Webmail functions are available to all Exchange accounts. The OWA Webmail is one of the most comprehensive webmail systems on the market. It provides a web interface online that is almost identical to the locally installed Outlook client. It offers all the functions needed to manage the emails and calendar functions of Exchange and can be accessed very easily via Exchange's own URL.
The login data to the OWA - Outlook Web Access - corresponds to the login data of the Exchange mailbox. Again, no special login data is required.
Microsoft Exchange Version
For our Exchange mailboxes we always try to offer the latest on premise version. Our Exchange environment is always provided with the latest updates and version changes, as long as they have been tested by our Microsoft specialists.
This means that you always have the latest Microsoft Exchange functions at your disposal and you do not have to wait long for the provider to upgrade the Exchange environment to a newer version in order to be able to use newer Outlook versions, for example.
