High-availability and high-performance virtual server solutions from IP-Projects
GDPR-compliant
Thanks to the hosting of our servers exclusively within Germany - Frankfurt am Main - we offer you a GDPR-compliant server operation. In addition, we provide you with a suitable AV contract (order data processing) and our TOMs (technical organizational measures) with just a few clicks.
99.99 % availability
With our Ceph HA vServer offers, virtual machines are automatically distributed to other cluster nodes in the event of a failure. Our Performance vServers do not have Ceph, but in the event of maintenance, the vServers are moved to other vServer nodes to avoid a maintenance-related failure.
Fair Use Traffic
Our vServer offers are subject to a fair use traffic policy. This means that a certain amount of traffic is included for each offer. There are no additional costs for our customers if the limit is exceeded, this is merely for guidance. Internal data traffic is of course free of charge.
Root-Access
You receive unrestricted access to the vServer. This means that you are not subject to any regulations regarding the services installed and operated on our vServer offers. This applies to all vServer products from IP-Projects.
Fast provisioning
Provisioning of our virtual servers takes place within a few minutes on business days, after verification of the customer account. We always have sufficient system resources available to ensure fast vServer provisioning.
100% green electricity
Each of our data centers has a green electricity certificate. This guarantees that the electricity is generated from renewable sources such as hydroelectric or wind power. Especially in the hosting industry, we attach great importance to sustainability and the highest possible level of CO2 neutrality.
Reliable & competent support
Our technicians are available 24/7 for problems and faults, even outside our business hours. We rely exclusively on our own staff and employees who are familiar with the operating environments.
KVM virtualization
All vServers in our operating environment are virtualized with the help of KVM. KVM is a full virtualization - this means that you have your own host system kernel and thus maximum separation from other vServers.

vServer Features at a glance
Highest availability (High Availability)
You can achieve the highest availability with our Ceph HA vServer products. Each virtual machine is added to a “High Availability Group”, which permanently monitors the status of the vServer. If a host system fails and your virtual machine is installed on this host system, it is automatically redistributed to other host systems after a resource check and restarted.
The redistribution of high-availability virtual machines is fully automated by the hypervisor used so that manual intervention by a service technician is not necessary.
This type of high availability is only possible because all host systems have a cluster file system. There are a variety of different solutions for cluster file systems, in our case Ceph is used, as we have had consistently positive experiences with the use of Ceph in terms of stability and flexibility for several years.
In addition to high availability on the hypervisor side, all host systems also have a
- Redundant network supply via different switches, which in turn have redundant power and network uplinks
- Redundant power supply within the racks via A+B feeds, which are supplied via independent UPS systems from different manufacturers
- Redundant air conditioning via two air conditioning units on different sides of the building
Strong, constant performance
Only CPUs for the highest performance requirements are used in our Enterprise vServer offerings. We use CPUs from the AMD EPYC series for our Ceph Cluster range and AMD Ryzen CPUs with the highest possible single-core performance for our Compute vServer products.
Our Compute vServer CPUs are dedicated to each VM. There is no overselling here to guarantee our customers maximum CPU performance.
In addition to pure CPU performance, only the latest generation of NVMe SSDs are used in our Enterprise vServer products. This rounds off the maximum CPU performance with a high IOPS performance and data rate on the storage side.
Security
DDoS protection
DDoS protection can be booked as an option with every IP-Projects server product. This is available free of charge in the smallest version as “Bronze DDoS Protection”. This free DDoS protection offers basic protection against network attacks, but is limited in its range of functions so that it is not possible to customize the filters individually.
In the Silver, Gold and Platinum variants, individual filter templates and customization options are also available.
Firewalls
When booking an Enterprise vServer, the vServers are provided directly on the Internet. There are no regulations or network-side port blocks on our part. The server itself can therefore be secured via server-side firewalls on the vServer itself.
Alternatively, we offer an external firewall appliance, which is operated on a high-availability firewall cluster. These firewalls offer additional protection and WAN-LAN separation of traffic. In general, several vServers can be installed behind a single firewall appliance. This is particularly recommended for the protection of critical enterprise vServers. We rely on OPNSense as a firewall solution.
Intrusion Prevention
The optimal firewall appliances also offer the option of installing numerous plugins within the firewall system. One of these plugins is an intrusion prevention system, which offers additional filtering options to protect web stores or other critical websites in order to detect and filter certain attack vectors in advance.
This can be a particularly important criterion for sensitive customer data.
Data security & backup
Data center certification
In order to ensure the highest possible physical security standard, we only use data centers that have a very high certification standard. This includes, for example, the following certifications:
- EN50600 - European standard for the planning, construction, operation and maintenance of data centers
- ISO 9001 - Standard for the requirements of quality management systems
- ISO 27001 - Standard for information security management systems
- PCI DSS - Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (particularly important for the operation of online stores)
A data center certification therefore guarantees certain standards for the operating environment of the servers and their compliance over time.
Backup solution
Each of our Enterprise vServers is backed up daily free of charge. The backup takes the form of an incremental backup to a central backup storage. This backup storage is located outside the operating environment of the vServer Hypervisor in its own data center.
The spatial separation of backups and live data has top priority.
The backup cycles can be increased to up to 7 days for all Enterprise vServers for a small surcharge. It is also possible to book an additional external vServer backup storage, which can be mounted as a network drive - SMBv3 - within a virtual machine, for example. Individual backups can then be created here using your own backup scripts.
Snapshot function
We also offer the option of creating snapshots free of charge with our Enterprise vServer offers. Snapshots are particularly suitable for carrying out a quick recovery if, for example, an operating system update cannot be completed cleanly.
Scalability & future-proofing
Upgrade and scaling
With our Enterprise virtual machines, resources can be easily upgraded within the Enterprise vServer packages offered. If the requirements exceed the package limits, we can make individual adjustments depending on the available system resources or prepare an offer for a dedicated server system. This depends on the price and performance factor.
Migration to a dedicated server is possible in certain cases - for example, if a firewall already separates the IP addresses of our vServer environment. Our technicians will be happy to advise you on this to clarify the case of a possible IP takeover.
Price stability
Thanks to long-term supply contracts with our data center service providers, our Enterprise vServers also have long-term price stability. This gives our customers planning and future security for their application operations.
Easy to Manage

The administration of our vServers is handled via our self-developed vServer management system. Installation, restarts, monitoring, IP management, and traffic analysis become effortless.
Through the individual dialogs, you always have direct access to the most important parameters and actions.
We offer all common operating systems for installation. Either as an automatic Cloud-Init installation. If we do not offer your desired operating system, ISO images can also be installed via VNC access.
Whether it's installation or troubleshooting. With VNC, you have direct access to your vServer at all times.
Snapshot and backup management is also simple and clear. This means you have everything under control, even if a problem arises.
Frequently asked questions
What is an Enterprise vServer?

An Enterprise vServer is a highly available virtual server solution for business-critical applications. The servers run in a Ceph-based storage infrastructure that offers maximum reliability through redundancy and automatic data replication. Modern AMD EPYC CPUs are used, which are optimized for multi-core performance and virtualization at enterprise level. For Enterprise vServers with very high single-core performance requirements, our Compute vServer offers are available. However, the storage is not central Ceph storage but local storage for maximum disk performance.
What is a Compute Enterprise vServer with dedicated CPU allocation?

A Compute Enterprise vServer offers particularly high single-core performance through the use of AMD Ryzen 9000 series CPUs. Each customer gets dedicated CPU threads that are not shared with others - ideal for CPU-intensive workloads where every millisecond counts.
For which applications is an Enterprise vServer particularly suitable?

Enterprise vServers are particularly suitable for the following use cases:
- Highly available webshops & eCommerce systems (e.g. Shopware, Magento, WooCommerce)
- Company databases (e.g. PostgreSQL, MariaDB with replication)
- CRM / ERP systems such as Odoo, SAGE
- Intranet / portal solutions with permanent accessibility
- Mail server & groupware solutions (e.g. Zimbra, Kopano)
- Load balancers (e.g. HAProxy)

- Minecraft / game servers, where tick rate & latency are crucial
- Data processing / simulations, e.g. for science & research
What are the advantages of dedicated CPU allocation for Enterprise Compute vServers?

Big advantages of dedicated CPU allocation would be:
- No CPU steal time by neighbors on the host system
- Full control over CPU utilization
- Predictable performance, ideal for sensitive workloads
- Possibility to optimize performance at application level
Is encryption performed on the hypervisor side?

Yes - the Ceph-based Enterprise vServers have encryption of the data disks at hypervisor level. This means that no data can reach third parties even if a defective OSD is replaced.
Is there a standard AV contract for the Enterprise vServer?

We offer a standardized AV contract for each of our server and web hosting services, which is automatically provided via our customer portal. The technical and organizational measures are also available in the customer portal. It is generally possible to obtain an individual AV contract. However, as this requires a legal review, the time and effort required to draw up the contract must be invoiced.
