What makes our Linux SSD vServers special and what technical features the servers offer our customers.
Special features Linux Promo SSD vServer
The Linux Promo vServers are based on our Linux SSD vServer series. However, the special feature here is that significantly more hard disk capacity is made available. A RAID 10 consisting of four SAS SSDs is therefore used as local storage, which also offers optimum disk performance for I/O intensive services.
The Linux SSD Promo Cluster also has a redundant 20 Gigabit/s network connection per host system as an LACP channel, where at least half the network capacity is always available even in the event of a technical problem. This ensures that our customers can always use the full guaranteed 1 Gigabit/s network connection per vServer.
The administration of our vServers is handled via our self-developed vServer management system. Installation, restarts, monitoring, IP management, and traffic analysis become effortless.
Through the individual dialogs, you always have direct access to the most important parameters and actions.
We offer all common operating systems for installation. Either as an automatic Cloud-Init installation. If we do not offer your desired operating system, ISO images can also be installed via VNC access.
Whether it's installation or troubleshooting. With VNC, you have direct access to your vServer at all times.
Snapshot and backup management is also simple and clear. This means you have everything under control, even if a problem arises.

What is special about our Promo vServer offers?
Our Promo vServers offer more storage capacity than our normal Linux SSD vServers, with the same technical basis. They therefore form the perfect link between our Enterprise vServer series and our low-cost Linux vServer offers. In order to make the low prices possible, we have dispensed with an automatic daily backup. Not every private customer needs a daily backup of the vServer and especially for a promotion, the price is a decisive criterion and is therefore the focus.
What services do the Promo vServer offers provide?
Our Promo vServer offers are provided on Intel Xeon based server systems with SAS SSDs and ECC Registered memory. The SAS SSDs offer a perfect intermediate solution between expensive NVMe SSDs/controllers and slow SATA SSDs/HDDs. They can be used with all common server backplanes without the need for special enclosures. They also offer high reliability (enterprise class) and a higher data throughput / IOPS than normal SATA SSDs/HDDs. These packages are therefore suitable as good entry-level vServers that can still score points with a large amount of storage.
Who are Promo vServer offers suitable for?
The promotional vServer offers are primarily aimed at private users or new customers who want to get to know our products and IP-Projects without directly renting our Enterprise vServer products. This makes them a perfect entry-level vServer, as a low-cost alternative to other market players and with equally high availability and IP-Projects quality/support.
Are the vServers permanently cheaper?
Yes, the prices of our promotional vServers are not limited to a certain period of time. There is no small print and no hidden price increases! Grab it while stocks last!
What are the typical terms and notice periods for Promo vServer offers?
The minimum contract period for all vServer products from IP-Projects is only one month. We don't want to bind our customers with long terms - we want to convince them with the quality of our support and the availability of our vServers! Each vServer contract is always extended by one month and can be terminated with a notice period of 14 days to the end of the month. Cancellation always takes effect at the end of a prepaid term.
Can I upgrade the servers at any time?
Yes - our Promo vServers can also be upgraded to a larger package as long as it is still in stock / the promotion is still running! Upgrading a Promo vServer is possible without data loss and only requires a short restart of the Promo vServer.
Are there any snapshots or backups?
As with our other vServer products, it is possible to create a snapshot which is automatically removed after 24 hours. A snapshot gives you additional security when updating the operating system, for example, as you can easily revert to the data status prior to the update. No automatic backup is included with our Promo vServers. However, backup storage space can be booked as an option. This is provided as a network drive, which can be integrated into the vServer's operating system via SMBv3. Like our other vServer backups, this data is stored at a different location in order to guarantee maximum data security for our customers.

Yes! Compared to our competitors, we always rent out vServers including an IPv4 and a whole /64 IPv6 subnet. These are not IPv6 only products. An IPv4 is therefore naturally included in the rental price.

With our Linux vServers there is a free choice of operating system! To make it as easy as possible for you to get started, we offer the most common Linux distributions as an automatic one-click installation. If we do not provide the right operating system for you, an ISO installation is available as an alternative. Here you can upload any ISO image and use it to install your vServer.
Linux Promo SSD vServer Administration
With the help of our vServer administration panel you can easily manage your vServer. Numerous functions are available to you. We have summarized the main features of our Linux vServer Administration in a brief overview.

Of course, basic vServer administration functions are available with all our vServer products. These include:

vServer Backup Management
In contrast to our Linux SSD vServers, our Linux Promo vServer promotion unfortunately does not include backup storage space. The backup function can be added as an optional vServer feature when ordering the Promo vServer:
We offer this backup option:
- a network drive, which can be mounted in the vServer's operating system
The vServer backups are also stored decentrally in our own data center, so that data loss is ruled out even in the event of a fire.
Linux Promo vServer Operating System Installation
The installation of our Linux Promo SSD vServer is possible as 1-click via our server management. Thereby all common Linux operating systems are available. If you still need a special Linux, you have the possibility of an ISO installation.
The ISO installation is then done with the help of a VNC console, which is directly integrated into our server management. An additional VNC client is not required to use this management function.
Permanent VNC Console
To ensure that you always have the ability to access the virtual machine regardless of the Linux Promo SSD vServer operating system, a permanent VNC console is available through our vServer administration panel. Therefore, if you make any misconfigurations - for example on the network - you can use this VNC console to undo the misconfiguration without the need for our customer support or restoring a backup.
The VNC console can be called directly from the web interface. An additional VNC client is not required, which makes working with VNC much easier at this point.
IP and R-DNS Management
Of course you can view your IP addresses and set R-DNS / PTR entries via our Linux Promo SSD vServer management. Setting R-DNS / PTR entries on an IP address is necessary to ensure smooth email traffic. Many e-mail servers on the Internet reject e-mails if no R-DNS / PTR entry is set for an IP address. Our name servers are also secured using DNSSEC to prevent manipulation of these entries by third parties. Likewise, all IP addresses that we provide to our customers are secured using RPKI.

We rent the service to you and bill you for it regularly, at the agreed intervals and in the form requested by you. It is not necessary/possible to top up credit (pre-paid), but it is possible to cancel the booked service in good time if you no longer require it. The contract is automatically extended by the agreed term, so no refund can be made if the service is not used and no notice of termination is given.
